SERVER RESPONSE:NO PORT COMMAND ISSUED FIRST

I recently upgraded to 4.03 to try to fix the above error. It only accurs when I am posting to a certain site (Unix Based). I can login & download successfully but I can not post anything. I have tried turning on & off the PASV preference. If it is on, I get the above error only when I post. If it is off, the dog just spins but there is not status windows that comes up. It will sit there forever with no response. Please help. The site I am connecting to is hosted by orphanage.com.

    Thanks, Kevin

Do you know if the server is a SNAP server? It might say in the transcript.

    Thanks,

Jim, I am having the tech support team from ISP join the conversation. I hope they answer today or tomorrow. Thanks - I do not think it is a SNAP Server but we will see.

    Thanks, Kevin

This is Bob Connors, Hostmaster of Orphanage Services that has the ftp server in question. The server is Proftpd, not a SNAP server. Kevin did not experience the problem until he upgraded Fetch, as I understand it. Since I do not have a Mac, I cannot test or duplicate the problem. I had my uplink, who does have a Mac, test it for me and he had no problem.

Kevin: could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after you try to upload in passive mode?

    Thanks,

So it's working some of the time, but not all of the time. I think it's a timing issue, and have an idea of what the solution might be. If you would like to try a test version with that solution please send an email to support@fetchsoftworks.com.

    Thanks,

Jim - It posts a file with zeroK. I have never had it work for uploading. Just downloading, deleting files & creating new directories. I will put in a request to tech support.

    Thanks, Kevin

Jim - I tried the test Fetch with no differences. For the first time, I am experiencing some connection errors (No host by that name - or something like it) from Fetch (Using both the 4.03 version & the test one you gave me). I am working with the ISP to do some connectivity testing.

Thanks for all your help so far.
