I have used Fetch quite a while on my Mac OS 10.4.7
Now that I have pressure to retieve from someone else's site, it doesn't refresh. The party that put the pdf file there for me says it's there...however all I see is that was put there LAST week which she says is deleted and doesn't appear on her end.
    I have a downloaded version which I don't have a backup for so I can't try a reinstall.

    Hi,

You can force Fetch to never use a cache, that is, to always get a fresh list from the server, by opening the Preferences, clicking the Miscellaneous tab, and checking the "Ignore file cache" checkbox. Then close your current connection to the server and reconnect. You will be guaranteed to be getting the most recent file list.

If you still don't see the file after doing that, the most likely explanation is that you and the other party are looking in two different places.

One way to make sure you are looking in the same place is to ask them to send you a URL or full path to the pdf; then you can copy and paste that information into the Fetch New Connection dialog (substituting your username and password if necessary) and it should take you directly to the correct folder containing the file.

Let us know if neither of these suggestions helps. Thanks,

Great; I have this done. Your instructions were easy. I also found under Directories in the Menu"refresh file directories" and that helped.

    Hi,

Glad to hear the problem is fixed.

(Sorry I didn't mention the "Referesh File Directories" command but I thought you'd already tried it...)

    Best,
