sorry for asking once again, but i've got the same problem: whenever i try to connect to any server, all i get is a running dog an no file list. i tried all your suggestions about checking and unchecking different boxes but they don't solve the problem. so my transcript looks quite boring:

    System Version = 0x1011
    Connecting to homes.stat.math.ethz.ch port 21 (17.12.2001 2:27:26 Uhr)
    Connecting to ftp.kantisargans.ch port 21 (17.12.2001 2:27:34 Uhr)

... and nothing else! i meet the same problem when using fetch 3.0.3, and i'm running os 10.1.1, by the way.

Can you connect to ftp.fetchsoftworks.com (leave the User ID and Password fields blank)?

It looks like the servers you are trying to contact are not responding, which could indicate a network problem or that the servers are down.
