Pages open in Webview but won't link to each other (4 posts)

    Hi

I'm not sure whether I've done something wrong in Fetch or Dreamweaver as I'm pretty new to this whole thing but I think I've done exactly what I did last time when it worked. Anyway - All of my pages open properly when I open them through Webview but when I try to click from one page to another (on safari) it comes up with

"NOT FOUND The requested URL /index.htm was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

Would this be a problem with my links in dreamweaver or something in Fetch?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,

Do you experience the same problem if you go to your website directly in Safari (by typing its address in Safari), instead of using WebView to open the pages? If WebView is set up properly, using WebView should be identical to going directly to the pages in Safari, but it's best to double-check this.

Assuming you do see the problem when going directly to your website as well, this error is probably happening because at least one webpage is not in the location specified by one or more of your links. This could either be because the webpage was not uploaded to the correct location (so the links look in one place, but don't find the page because it isn't in that place), or because the links are incorrectly specified, that is, they point to the wrong location. If you uploaded pages to the wrong place - or perhaps just missed uploading one of the webpages - you can fix that by uploading it to the correct place with Fetch. If the links are incorrectly specified, you'll need to fix that with Dreamweaver.

I'd try using Dreamweaver's preview feature and see if the pages work okay in Dreamweaver. If they don't, you need to fix the links. If they work okay in Dreamweaver, double-check to make sure that you uploaded all your webpages to the server (and the organization of the webpages on the server should match the organization of the webpage files on your Mac).

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
