Fetch, since the installation of Mountain Lion, erratically refuses to allow opening of some remote files for editing, with an error message saying that the user doesn't have permission. To cure that, it isn't enough to close the connection and reopen it. It is necessary to quit Fetch, relaunch it, and open the connection again. After that (for a while), the user can open the file for editing.

    Hi,

Thanks for contacting us. What program are you using to edit remote files?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

We have had other reports of problems using TextEdit as an editor on Mountain Lion. I would recommend trying TextWrangler, which you can download for free from http://barebones.com. Let me know if that does not help.

    Thanks,
