  I have been using fetch 5 now for a while with no problems at all. Then i had to re-install OSX and used a Time Machine backup to do so. Everything is working fine and I can upload content to all my servers. But then today I tried downloading one of my files and got an error. I can open all folders but can't download any actual files in those folders. I get this error message.

  "Fetch could not get "file" because you do not have the required permissions for the local file or folder."

  I have CHMOD this and no matter what i set the files for 666, 777, its doesnt work. Same error applies.

  Did I maybe miss something when putting everything back on the OS?

  Hi,

  This sounds like it's a problem with the Mac folder Fetch is trying to download the file to, not a problem with the permissions of the file on the server (so chmoding wouldn't help).

  First, I would try doing the following:

  * Go to Fetch menu, and open Preferences.
  * Click the Download tab.
  * Change the "Save downloaded files to" menu to a different location (any one will do); then change it back to your desired download location.
  * Close the Preferences window.

  Then try downloading again and see if you can download successfully.

  If not, try downloading to a different folder and see if you can download to it. If that works but you cannot download to your desired folder, let us know.

  If not, next I would start your Mac up off of your Mac OS X 10.5 install CD, open Disk Utility, and use First Aid to repair your disk and repair disk permissions. Then restart off your hard drive and see if you can download successfully with Fetch.

  If neither of these helps, let us know.

  First option worked. Thanks so much for the quick reply and help! There was a folder titles Desktop that was a separate non working folder from a previous backup...which of course wouldnt work with Fetch. Thanks again for the help!
