When I download a .pptx file using either Get or drag-and-drop it appears on my local Mac as a folder with a bunch of internal folders, files, etc. I can't open it in Powerpoint. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi Brad,

Which version of Fetch are you using?

.pptx files are stored in a zip-file like format, and some earlier versions of Fetch incorrectly unzipped the files when downloading them.

Our current version, Fetch 5.5.3, does not have this problem and we recommend that you consider upgrading.

In Fetch 5.3 or 5.3.1, you can fix this problem by opening the Fetch Preferences, clicking the Download tab, and unchecking the "Allow automatic decoding of download files" checkbox. However, this will also disable the automatic decoding of all zip, StuffIt, BinHex, etc. files, so Fetch 5.5 provides a more targeted fix.

Please let us know if one of these solutions does not fix the problem for you.

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire
