Preserving Modification Dates Across Servers (Fetch windows) (2 posts)

In doing web development, I like to keep an exact duplicate of my live production server as a development copy. When I'm done with changing a file and testing, I'll drag the file in question from the dev window to the production window in Fetch to copy the file to the production server.

But, when I copy a file from one fetch window (server) to another, it sets the modification date to the current date/time. Each server ends up with identical file content, but the files have different mod dates which hinders version controls.

Is there a way to keep it from doing this, or is this a function of the server?

I have the "Obscure" preference "Do not preserve modification dates" unchecked.

    Thanks much!

There currently is no way to do this with Fetch, but we are looking at ways to do this in the future.

    Thanks for the feedback,
