Maybe you can help me. I'm trying to make a password protected web directory and they ask me to put in the full pathname which I can get by clicking on "path". I did this and I get a picture of a little house and then a "/". Does that mean I print in the first line "/.htpasswd" or home/.htpasswd? I just know that putting only the "/" I get a 500 error! Thanks a lot

    Hi,

The Path pop-up shows the folder hierarchy for the current folder. So if it showed:

    www
    username
    /

That means that you are in the "www" folder, which is inside the "username" folder, which is inside the "/" folder.

So the path in this example would be /username/www/ , and the path for any files in that folder would be /username/www/myfile.txt

The home icon indicates that this is the folder you will be taken to on the server when you connect, if you do not enter a different folder or path to connect to. It does not mean the folder is named "home."

So if all you see in the path pop-up is "/" , then the correct path should be /.htpasswd .

    Thanks,
