    This happens after I tied to test php scripts through my browser. The initial file list will display but when I try to change directories the file list for the directory fails to display. It still happens with Fetch 4.0.3.
    I cannot get ftp access through BBedit nor Dreamweaver. Has any one had similar problems and if so have there been any solutions?

    Could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after you see the problem? Choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu to open the window.

    Thanks,

    This is happening to me, as well on my Mac... right after moving our office (and network) to a different location in the building. We also have added a new hardware firewall, and had admins come in and reconfigure our network (NT). Everything worked fine prior to shutting down on Friday, but upon restart in the new location, it doesn't work for all but one ftp location.

    The Transcript reads...

    Fetch 4.0.3 System 0x1025 Serial FETCHFL001-NM9W-1CDR TR
    Connecting to 204.0.126.126 port 21 (4/30/03 5:57:45 PM)

    get_reply():con_conn->Getline() returns -3259
    ftp_list: -30014 (state == GETTING_LIST)
    QUIT
    send_cmd():con_conn->Putline() returns -3259

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    The first thing I'd try is checking the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" box in the Firewall section of Fetch Preferences (choose Preferences... from the Customize menu in Fetch, and click on the Firewall tab). Does that help?

    Thanks,

    Thank you: I also have gained access using other than passive mode. But the mystery is a little haunting. I suppose that it is just that I don't know enough about the works of FTP.

    That's strange -- I don't see that error connecting to the same site with the same user id. Do you have Fetch 4.0.3?

    Thanks,

    i do have fetch 4.0.3
    perhaps it is a configuration issue on the firewall here.

    any tips on what to tell the guys who manage that?

    here is the transcript:
    i also get an error dialog box that says "Server too busy"
    ------

    exact wording of error dialog (not sure if it matter so much):

    "Error: ther server dropped the connection (it may be too busy)."

    the plot thickens...

    on the windows side, via FlashFXP, we can connect to the site and upload without incident.

    PASV mode is on on FlashFXP...i tried it both on and off in Fetch.

    Have you tried any other FTP clients from your Mac (such as Transmit from Panic http://www.panic.com )?

    Thanks,
