Are there plans to add the scp or sftp (ssh) protocols to Fetch? I can't use the current version of Fetch because it transmits my passwords in cleartext for everyone to see.

Yes, SSH support is high on my list of features for the release after 4.0. In the meantime, Fetch 4.0 does support a number of ways to avoid sending cleartext passwords: S/Key, OTP, and Kerberos (4 and 5).

Incredibly cool - I was just going to ask that and thought I'd check the FAQ first. Yay for ssh =)

on a somewhat related topic, (this is the "talk" section, after all :) Jim, are you aware of a method for doing cvs over ssh on the mac, without using f-secure? (commercial)

Apparently i need a ssh "port forwarding" app to do this, since maccvs pro can't. And apparently F-secure is the only app which does the trick.

This is a problem for doing mac dev on sourceforge.net which requires ftp over ssh.

(with OSX of course, the problem is easily solved)

Simon Fraser has hacked SSH support into a build of MacCVS Pro; it's available at:

    ftp://shell.accesscom.com/pub/users/s/smfr/utils/MacCVS_Pro_2.7d1.sit

Another possible option is Mindbright's MindTerm SSH client. I haven't been able to tunnel FTP through it, but haven't tried CVS.
