I'm having a difficult time trying to delete some files from our FTP site. The error I am getting is: "Server file error:~~300003_6d402a_44bF: Operation not permitted." I've downloaded the 4.0.3 in the hopes of deleting it with a newer version but it still persists. This file is preventing me from deleting other files in this particular folder.

Could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window? If the file has ~ characters in its name it may not be possible to delete the file with Fetch; in that case you'd have to ask the server administrator to delete the file.

    Thanks,

I tried once more to delete that file but it's still there. We no longer have a systems admin person on site so I'm not sure if anyone here would know how to delete it on that end.

    Thanks a lot, Jim.

The server is not letting you delete the file, so you may not be able to do this without help from someone on the server end.

This is just a wild guess, but you could try choosing "Delete Directory or File..." from the Remote menu with the Option key pressed. You should be prompted for the name of the file to delete; at that point enter:

    ~~300003_6d400c_4b7F

Note the backslashes before the tilde characters; hopefully that will help.

    Thanks,
