    I need to send info from my mac in co to my friends mac in nj. i dont know what info goes in any of the fields. can anyone point me in the right direction. any help is greatly apprechiated. thanks tim

    To start, your friend's Mac needs to be running FTP server software (such as the FTP server built into OS X, and turned on in the Sharing pane of System Preferences). Second, you need to know the IP address of your friend's Mac. This has to be a "real" Internet address, assigned by your friend's ISP, not a private address assigned by your friend's router (if she has one).

    To connect to your friends Mac you'd enter her machine's IP address in the Host field of Fetch's New Connection window. If your friend set up an account for you you'd put the account name in the User ID field, and the account password in the Password field.
