  Dear All,

  I am new to Mac, so I may be asking something simple. I want to set Emacs as the text editor for Fetch. I went to the Prefecences page and then clicked on the Obscure pane, as per instructions. However, from the dropdown menu there I can not select Emacs as my editor (in fact I can not select anything).

  Could somebody help?

  Only some editors support the Apple Events needed for the Edit featue, and Emacs (unfortunately) is not one of them. I would recommend TextWrangler, which you can download for free from http://www.barebones.com.
