Setting up multiple URLs on the same IP address using Fetch (4 posts)

    Hello,
I'm very inexperienced with web design and implementation, and I have a very basic question.

For a couple years, I have used Fetch to upload files for my primary website, and I had three other URLs forwarded to that site as well. I recently purchased additional hosting from GoDaddy so that I can use one of those other URLs to launch a new site. I stopped the forwarding, but I don't know how up upload my new "index.html" file so that Fetch and the web know to point my first site to its index file, and the second site to its own.

Can someone talk me through setting up folders, or whatever I have to do? I have logged into Fetch with my username and password and the new URL, but I get the same slew of files from website 1, and I'm not sure how to differentiate website 2.

    Thanks in advance,
    Amy

    Hi Amy,

I'm sorry, but this is really a question for GoDaddy, not Fetch. They are the ones who can tell you how to organize things so that your two sites do not get mixed up together; there is not a generic set of instructions we can give you, because every hosting company handles this situation differently.

They can also tell you if it is correct to see the files from your current website when you connect using the new information. It may be that you need to create separate folders for each site and move files around - but only GoDaddy can explain exactly what needs to be done.

But please let us know if you have further questions after talking to them.

    Thanks,

Thanks! I did contact GoDaddy and they helped me implement the folder that I needed to separate these URLs. Thanks so much,
