if I connect via sftp, can fetch make zip files or equivalent?

also, can I setup fetch to be location (system) aware? so that it checks for the connection to a certain network before proceeding? I know that's far-fetched, but I thought I would try.

No, Fetch does not currently have the ability to directly make zip archives on the server (you would have to download the item(s), and then upload them in Zip Archive format). But that's a great suggestion for a future release.

I'm not sure what you mean by location aware. What would you want Fetch to do differently if it could tell whether it was at location A or location B?

    Thanks,

    scratch the location feature.

I was thinking confirm the location. (like you are at "work" and your wifi network changed. is that ok?)

the other day I was downloading a file and my wifi network changed mid-transfer and it slowed down and I didn't notice.

hence why I posted these suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestions. I should look into whether Fetch can detect a network switch, and the ensuing connection drop.

    Thanks,
