    Hi,

Does anyone know how to show hidden files in Fetch 5.3.1?

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

What do you mean by "hidden files?" Do you mean files beginning with a period, or something else?

And are you trying to show these files on the server, or are you trying to see them in the Put dialog so you can upload them?

    Thanks,

Can you share with us how you did it?

    Hi Michael,

If you can tell us what you're trying to do (see the questions I asked Mark above), we'll be happy to give advice about what to do in Fetch.

    Thanks,

    Scott -

My guy at the ISP that hosts my website said "Well, it's a hidden file so you have to turn that on in your ftp
client so you can see them." I am looking for a file that doesn't appear in my FTP window when I log on. I need to get the file, change it and then re-upload it so as he said there must be a setting in the preferences to see this hidden file but I can't figure it out. Also, I just upgraded top the latest version of Fetch to see if that helped - nothing changed.

    Hi Michael,

Does the "hidden" file's name begin with a period or not?

    Give the following a try:

    * Go to the Fetch menu, and choose Preferences.
    * Click the Miscellaneous tab.
    * Make sure the "Omit filenames beginning with a period" checkbox is unchecked.
    * Make sure the "Use LIST -al command to reveal hidden files" checkbox is checked.
    * Open a connection to your server, and go to the folder where the file is supposed to be.
    * Go to the View menu, and choose Refresh.

Let us know if that helps or not.

    Thanks,
