I am on a windows network in my office. Since upgrading to Tiger have noticed poor performance with Fetch (now using 5.0.5). File transfer starts at 250k then systematicly slows down to 49k. Tested my network drop with a IBM thinkpad and this machine achieved ftp transfer at over 1 mb .. same file.. same cabling. Any idea what might be wrong?

Are you transferring to a server in your office, or on the Internet? Could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after an upload?

One thing to watch for is the difference between bits (and kilobits and megabits) and bytes (etc.). Fetch displays sizes and speeds in bytes, while some programs use bits, which can make them look 8 times faster (since there are 8 bits in a byte). That wouldn't explain all of the difference between 49k and 1m, but it would explain some of it.

    Thanks,
