SSH error when connecting with BeagleBoneBlack: ssh_exchange_identification: read: Connection reset (3 posts)

I had bought a BeagleBoneBlack (BBB) to build a robot for a Coursera course. I managed to build the robot and get the first BBB to wirelessly communicate with my computer via WiFi. Being human, I then short circuited the BBB when messing with the wiring, I had to buy a new BBB. Then, I put the new BBB into the robot. However, now when I try to ssh into this BBB I get this error:
ssh_exchange_identification: read: Connection reset by peer

I have looked on other forums for solutions and I have tried many: Deleting the known_hosts file did not work, editing the known_hosts file did not work. Is there something else I can try?

    Thank you.

    Additional information that may help:
I am attempting to ssh to the new BBB via ethernet.
Tried connecting from another computer, but I got a similar error
ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
    OS: Mavericks 10.9.2

    Hi,

This really isn't a general ssh support forum -- I'm here to support Fetch users.

That said, I would start by adding the -vvv flag to your ssh command, to get the most verbose debugging output. Hopefully you'll get an error message that you can Google for more specific advice.

    Thanks,
