    Hi Stefan,

We're sorry you're having trouble with Fetch.

What happens if you try to upload another file to that site? It doesn't need to be huge like the file you're having a problem with, but it should be moderately-sized, at least several hundred KB.

    Thanks,

the first file in that directory I uploaded to was even bigger (21 MB) and was first stalled, then the upload was fine. the following uploads of file sizes from 10 to 17 MB were all stalled. I then uploaded smaller files (2 Mb to 7MB) and sometimes they were stalled others went fine...

Normal HTML files made no problem at all...

Also the upload speed is very slow (starts at 100kB then slows down to 30kB)...

any help appreciated, caus I need to upload my music production within the next weeks..

    cheers,

    stefan

    Hi Stefan,

Upload speeds on home connections are often very slow, usually much slower than download speeds; most Internet connections are designed to work that way, since most users download more than upload. Uploads of 100 KB/s would actually be fairly quick on most connections. I am not sure why it gets slower as time goes on.

How is your Macintosh connected to the Internet?

    Thanks,

I don't think this problem is universal. Today in OS X 10.4.11 on a PB G4 I uploaded a 44 MB pdf file via SFTP to a Unix server in 12 minutes, with upload speeds around 58kb/s all the way, no stalls. When I downloaded the file, the speeds were about 550kb/s, a good illustration of Scott's point on the difference in upload and download speeds. This was on an Airport wireless network to an old Earthlink cable modem.

    hi again,

i solved the problem and have to appologize, the stalled uploads were due to full disk space on my provider server. I had not noticed that I had so small space...

    sorry for that,

    stefan

    Hi Stefan,

No apologies necessary - in fact, I should have suggested that you check on your space usage earlier, so my apologies to you.

Anyway, we're glad to hear your problems are fixed.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

    Best,

    Scott McGuire
