What would you think about a toolbar button for showing the transcript? I usually keep it closed because I find it slows the loading of directories. But there's no quick way to open it up except from the menu, as it doesn't even have a key command.

Additionally, I was curious what might have changed in the transcript from Fetch 4 to Fetch 5. I found opening the transcript in 4 to be lightning fast, but in 5, it takes quite a bit of time. I count about 2-3 seconds (1.5ghz Powerbook, 1gb ram, 10.4.2).

Or perhaps an option to automatically show the transcript when sending FTP commands?

You should be able to assign a command-key to the Fetch Transcript menu item (using the Keyboard pane of System Preferences); we'll think about a toolbar item.

We changed the underlying implementation of the transcript window between Fetch 4. On the positive side, we gained word-wrapping and Unicode support. The downside is poor performance. We are looking at ways to address the performance problem.

    Ahh, thanks for the info.

Might I suggest possibly making Fetch Transcript command-T ? It doesn't seem to be used for anything else that I can see.
