Transparent proxy....How?!! (2 posts)

    I don't understand how to configure a transparent proxy. I've set it up the correct IP and port (21) under both the System Preferences Network and Fetch Preferences, but I always get an error "The type of proxy server you have specified requires more information...." What information?!! It's all there in the Network Preferences.

    Help.

    If you choose "Transparent" from the Proxy Type pop-up in the Firewall section of Fetch Preferences you need to also fill in the Proxy host, Proxy user id and Proxy password fields.

    Fetch does not use the information in System Preferences.
