Trouble downloading Fetch (6 posts)

I've been trying to download the trial version of Fetch using Firefox (3.0.11) and Safari (4.0). Every attempt ends with a "cannot connect to server..." message. I've completed a check of my internet connection and can't seem to find the source of the problem--though I suspect it's on my end. Any thoughts?

    thanks.

    Hi Matt,

Our downloads do seem to be working so I'm not quite sure what the problem might be.

Please try this link to download and see if it works; let us know if not.

    http://getfetch.com/Fetch_5.5.dmg

    Thanks,

    Thanks, Scott.
Tried from the link, but received the same message. I'll try digging into some of my preferences and see if there's some security issue...

    Hi Matt,

Another thing you could try is using this link, which is an FTP link instead of an HTTP link - then you could download Fetch via FTP, which might work around whatever problem you're experiencing.

    ftp://ftp.fetchsoftworks.com

If you don't have an FTP client already, this link would open in a web browser or possibly make an icon appear in the Mac OS X Finder. Then try downloading the Fetch_5.5.dmg you'll find there.

(If you do have an FTP client already, such as an older version of Fetch, the link may open in it, or in the FTP client you can just enter "ftp.fetchsoftworks.com" as the hostname to connect to, leave the username and password blank, to connect to our FTP server.)

    Hope this helps,

    Hi, Scott.
Again, thanks for your help. This time it worked--even though I don't have an ftp client.

The link you posted opened in my web browser. Then I right clicked to "save link as", which successfully downloaded/saved the disk image to my desktop.

Thanks again for your help and responsiveness. If the software is equal to your support, you've got another loyal customer.

    Best,
