    Hi.

Our company has just created a new folder on our ftp site, now when i try and upload something to it, i get the error message...

'Fetch could not put "filename" because the FTP server encountered an error accessing a file or folder.'

Server responded: "filename": Accsess is denied.'

I have trid re-booting Fetch, but still get the same message. Below is the transcript.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,

My guess is the problem is that the file you are trying to upload has spaces in its name. Some FTP servers do not accept files whose names have spaces in them.

Try renaming the file to remove all spaces from its name (limit yourself to just letters, numbers, and underscores - some servers don't like things like brackets, parentheses, or commas either), and then try uploading again.

If that still doesn't help, let us know (and please send another transcript of the failed attempt to upload the file without spaces in its name).

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire

    Hi,

Thanks for trying that, and for sending the transcript.

It looks like this is a problem on the server end - the folder or the server has not been configured with the correct permissions to let you upload files. I'd talk to whoever's in charge of the server and tell them you get "access denied" messages whenever you try to upload something when you're logged in with your username.

(There are no Fetch settings that affect your ability to do this - Fetch is saying "here's a file for you" and the server is the one saying "no, I won't accept it.")

Please let us know if you have more questions after talking to them.

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire

    Hi Scott.
You were right. It was an issue with the guys who host our ftp site.
    Thanks again,
