We have Fetch 4.0.3 installed and are access FTP via the Firewall. When access an FTP site we cannot browse folders and are getting "File not found" messages when trying to download a file or open a folder. Everything shows up as question marks.

When bypassing the Firewall, navigation, upload and download are OK.
    Please help, ASAP.

Can you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after you see the problem going through the firewall? Choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu to open the Fetch Transcript window.

    Thanks,

From what I can tell the problem is a combination of four things:

    1) Fetch doesn't support DOS-style file lists.
    2) The server is configured to use DOS-style file lists.
    3) The firewall keeps Fetch from telling the server to use UNIX-style file lists.
    4) The first file list you see has only three items.

When Fetch sees more than five file list items that it doesn't understand it reverts to using a simpler file list command. So you should be able to work around this problem by choosing "Refresh File List" from the Directories menu -- once Fetch has seen those three items twice it should start behaving better.

    Thanks,

Thank you Jim. I am now able to navigate and download, however, the icons are still all question marks and we cannot differentiate between files and folders. Any ideas?

Yes, navigating the site will be clumsy unless you can change one of the items 2) and 3) above. In the meantime you can use the View File List command in the Remote menu to see which items are files and which are directories.
