    Hi Jason,

    You can tell Fetch to stop unpacking/decoding/expanding all files after you download by doing the following:

    * Go to the Fetch menu, and choose Preferences.
    * Click the Download tab.
    * Uncheck the "Allow automatic decoding of downloaded files" checkbox.

    Or, you can also just tell Fetch to stop unpacking .tar files, and continue to expand other things (such as Zip and StuffIt files) automatically. To do this, follow the second set of instructions in the decoding files automatically topic in Fetch Help (you can just click the link here to read it).

    Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
