hello. i uploaded an AIFF file for somone, and they asked if i could post a WAV instead. so when i try to upload the WAV, it gets to a certain point, and then just stops uploading. the progress thing just freezes...every time.

    anyone know what's going on?!?

    Hi,

There should be no difference between uploading an AIFF file and uploading a WAV file as far as Fetch is concerned.

Could you try uploading the WAV file again, and when it stops uploading, choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu, copy the contents of the transcript window, and post them here? That will help us figure out what's going on.

You may be able to use Fetch's resume upload feature to finish the task. Try this: once the upload stalls, cancel the transfer. Then click the Put button, select the WAV file, and choose "Resume upload of file" from the "If a file already exists" menu. Click the Put button to start. Not all servers support resuming uploads, though.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Thanks for the transcript, unfortunately it's not very illuminating.

Is the WAV file larger than the AIFF file? That might explain why one transfers and the other doesn't.

Have you checked to make sure you aren't running out of space in your account? That is, that you have room to put another 41 MB file?

If that's not the problem, another thing to try is to download Fetch 5 and give it a try (you can try it free for 15 days). If you still have the problem with Fetch 5, please post the transcript from that (and in Fetch 5, you can see if you can use the Resume Upload command to finish the task).

    Thanks,

you got it! totally my fault...i didn't have enough room on my server. it's all set now.

thanks so much for making me realize my own mistake.

You're welcome, glad to hear the problem is solved.

It's too bad the server wasn't sending back a useful error message (but that's not uncommon in this sort of situation).
