v slow to get and put (2 posts)

    1st time user TRYING to get a site on the web. How hard can it be!!?? Pagemill didn't upload files properly so I downloaded Fetch v.4. Fetch did upload all my files but both Pagemill and Fetch take at least 2 mins to log on to my host isp (onetel). Onetel assure me it's nothing to do with them. So, are my settings incorrect somewhere? Interestingly, I turned off passive mode transfers (firewall prefs) and Fetch suddenly sped up to how it should be when I got and put files. But then, for some reason it slowed down back to its almost unusable pace. What's going on???

    Try connecting to ftp.fetchsoftworks.com (put ftp.fetchsoftworks.com in the Host field, leave the other fields blank). Is it faster, slower, or the same as your onetel site?
