View media: powerpoint (2 posts)

  I am trying to use the "view media" option to view a powerpoint presentation that's on my server. Fetch is trying to open it as a Quicktime movie, not as powerpoint. I don't see anywhere to edit this. Can I not view the powerpoint file?

  Hi,

  The View Media command can only display files that can be decoded by QuickTime. That includes most audio and video formats, but does not include PowerPoint.

  I would recommend upgrading to Fetch 5.6, the current release. In Fetch 5.6 we replaced View Media with the Quick Look command, precisely to deal with situations like this.

  Alternatively, you can click Get to download the PowerPoint file and then double-click it to open in PowerPoint.
