I have recently started to experiment with perl scripts and need to use a cgi-bin. My host server told me I could create a cgi-bin but didn't tell me how. There is no explanation on their site. I've read enough to know that I have to set permissions to match chmod settings, and have figured how to use Fetch to do this (I've also been able to do it with UNIX). There are good explanations about how to set permissions for the scripts and related files, but I can't find anything that tells me how to set up the cgi-bin itself. In trying to figure this out, I've started to wonder if I only need to "set permissions" (once I know what those should be), or if I also need to "set upload permissions." I'm not even sure what an "upload permission" is, and can't find a clear explanation in any accompanying Fetch help files.

Set upload permissions tells the server what permissions to assign to the next file or files that are uploaded in the same FTP session (some servers only apply it to one upload). It shouldn't be necessary to use that command -- you can always select the files and set their permissions after uploading.

    Thanks,
