Wrong user name format? (2 posts)

    I downloaded Fetch today and it will not let me connect. It says that the wrong user name format was entered. I have used Fetch before with all the same info. Here is what the transcript says

    Fetch 4.0.3 System 0x1028 Expires 11/16/2004 TR
    Connecting to ftp.fortenberryphoto.com port 21 (11/1/04 3:52:17 PM)
    220 FTP server (Version wu-2.6.2(1) Mon Nov 1 15:52:17 2004) ready.
    USER forten
    500 Wrong user name format was entered. For more information, press help button of your control panel.

    Any suggestions?

    The server is returning that message (Fetch is just passing it along), and I don't see any good explanation for it. So I think you will have to contact the server administrator and show her or him the transcript. It could be that the server configuration was inadvertently broken.
