Zip files downloaded get corrupted on many macs (9 posts)

    hi guys, i have a problem with fetch. many filles get corrupted when try to unzip them.

    i tested the same files on windows pc's and everything is fine.

    Hi,

    Could you download one of the zip files that is getting corrupted, and then choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents? That will give me some clues about what is going on.

    Thanks for posting those transcripts. Could you check the size of the downloaded file (select it in the Finder, and choose Get Info from the File menu)? It should be exactly 238,883,442 bytes.

    So Fetch is downloading the entire file, but it isn't unzipping correctly?

    You might try copying the file to the Windows computer (e.g. with a thumb drive) and seeing if you can unzip the file there. I don't know why a zip file would only expand on Windows, but it seems worth checking.
