1kb duplicate of all files. (7 posts)

    When a client connects to my server, which is running win2k, there is a 1kb duplicate of every file. Is there a setting in Fetch to ignore these files? Clients have been downloading the wrong files accidentally about half of the time.

    Do the duplicate files have names that are similar to the "real" file name? Is there a pattern to the way they are named?

    It sounds like they represent the resource forks or other Mac-specific information of the files.

    Jim - they have the exact same names as the "actual" files. I cannot delete them either.

    Could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents after going to a folder with these duplicate files and choosing "Refresh File List" from the Directories menu?

    Are the duplicate files the ones starting with ._ ? You can configure Fetch to not list files starting with a dot -- check "Omit dot files" in the Misc. section of Preferences.
