Both in the Apple and the MacFixit boards there is some dicussion about solving a file size limit when transferring files to any server, PC or Mac. The 2GB file size limit appears to be present when using Fetch as well, returning a -1310 error code. Is there some setting in Fetch preventing me from doing this, or is this a fundamental problem with the Mac OS? I am looking to get our (huge) video files over to our Win2K server.

Fetch 3.0.3 can't handle files bigger than 2GB, but Fetch 4.0 (now in beta test) can. I'd suggest giving 4.0b5 a try (it's available from the download page).

Thanks, I'll try it out. This could be the only way to transfer large files to ANY server from the Mac. At least until we have a chance to play with OSX next month.

Fetch 4.0b5 successfully transfers files larger than the 2GB limit. When sending files larger than 2GB, the file size display incorrectly shows the Apple maximum (2,147,479,552 bytes), which of course affects the time remaining window as well. However, Fetch transfers the file just fine regardless of this, keeping an accurate count of the bytes transferred.

Using Fetch 4.0 is the only way I've been able to get around the 2GB limit.
