If I install the upgrade to version 5 from 4.0.3 will my files be lost ? How can I replace them if they lost during the installation? Please advise. Thank You!

    Hi,

Which files are you concerned about losing?

Fetch is very careful not to lose any files or preferences when you upgrade to 5, but if you tell us which ones you are concerned about, we can advise you on how to make sure they are safeguarded before you upgrade.

    Thanks,

Hello Scott, thank you for the quick reply. I have 700 jpg images on a server. It is list that shows the name and size of each file, would that be called a directory ? As you can see I am not familiar with Fetch terminology. I just want to be sure I will not loose this list if I install the upgrade. Thank You!!!

    Hi,

If the images are on the server - that is, you must connect with Fetch to see them - upgrading Fetch will not affect them at all, since they are on another computer. Fetch is just a way to see them and move them between your Mac and the server; the files are not contained in Fetch in any way. Once you've upgraded to the new Fetch, you just connect as before and they should still be there.

Please let us know if you have any more concerns. Thanks,

Hello Scott, The upgrade was smooth, no problems. It is a treat for rookies such as myself to have support. Thank you for taking the time to advise me on this. Best Regards! Fred
