755 folders not appearing (8 posts)

    Hello,

Just did two separate Wordpress install and fetch is not finding several folders despite them having 755 permissions. Nothing on WP boards. Filezilla and Dreamweaver find them without any difficulty. I'm on Leopard 6.4. Fetch is 5.3.1 and was figuring I should update and pay when this problem started to occur. Have not had it before.

Update, just tried Cyberduck and it works fine too. Kind of like it actually.

    Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean by "not finding". Could you elaborate a bit more on what you are doing with Fetch (uploading, browsing, etc.) and what is not working the way you expect?

    Thanks,

Well basically not finding means they are are not appearing. Can't see them on the screen. The directory structure presented does not display them. As noted, these are not hidden folders, and all have 755 permissions, and all are visible on other FTP clients. Tried reinstalling, but still can't see them.

Thanks for that clarification. Have you tried choosing Refresh from the View menu (or clicking the Refresh icon above the Date column of the file list)?

    Thanks,

    Yup, tried that before reinstalling.

Thanks for trying that. The next steps:

    1) In Fetch, go to the folder where you expect to see one of the missing folders
    2) Choose Refresh from the View menu
    3) Choose Fetch Transcript from the Window menu
    4) Include the entire contents of that window in your reply
    5) Then, in Cyberduck, go to the same folder
    6) Click the Refresh button
    7) Choose "Toggle Log Drawer" from the View menu (if you don't see the log drawer already)
    8) Include the entire contents of the log drawer in your reply

I'd like to compare the two transcripts, to see why the missing folders are appearing in Cyberduck but not in Fetch.

    Thanks,

    Jim Matthews

Wow, after two weeks of hiding, restarts, reinstalls, etc. The suspect folders are now appearing? Was about to abandon and then... No explanation. So have upgraded to 5.6. A great product, and though a phantom problem, thanks for taking the time.

I'm sorry we don't have an explanation, but I'm glad the folders are there now. Let us know if you see a problem again.
