I'm unable to update my AOL server space using Fetch. I use ftp as my username and myscreename@aol.com for my password, however when I enter my user folder, it denies me access to create or edit new directories.

Could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after you get the error? Choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu.

    Thanks,

Did you ever get this resolved? I have had the same problem now, although I used to use fetch to ftp to AOL all the time successfully. I have spoken to AOL and get a different answer each time I call or chat with tech support.

The issue here is that you must be signed on to AOL under the screen name that you are trying to FTP to. Most AOL'ers know this, however there is a new "glitch" when using O/S X.

AOL for O/S X does not properly authenticate the signed-on user with Fetch 4.0.1. A simple workaround for the O/S X user is to sign-on using AOL 5.0 (classic) while in the O/S X environment (classic emulation mode). Everything works fine then.

On an OT footnote for Jim, when running Fetch 4.0.1 in O/S X, it cannot find/automatically launch Graphic Converter v4.2 (carbon) for O/S X.

So, do I get $5 off the registration fee for helping solve/identify these problems? :p

Thanks for the assist, Tom. I am trying to figure out the GraphicConverter problem, and hopefully AOL will correct the problem with their software on X.

    Thanks,
