    I'm getting odd "425 Can't build data connection: Connection refused" messages back from a Unix web server when I try to run Fetch via an applescript.

    The applscript dies at the line:

    "tell application "Fetch 4.0.2" to open remote directory RemoteBaseDir" where RemoteBaseDir = "/"

    Here's the relevant bit of the transcript:

    PWD
    257 "/" is current directory.
    PORT 137,111,241,147,58,34
    200 PORT command successful.
    LIST
    425 Can't build data connection: Connection refused
    ftp_list: -30000 (state == GETTING_LIST)

    If I refresh the file list through the Fetch munu command, I do not get this error.

    Any ideas?

    Have you tried checking the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" box in the Firewall section of Preferences?

    Thanks,
