    Hi Jill,

Fetch 5.7 requires an Intel Mac running Mac OS X 10.5 or later. You can run Fetch 5.6 instead; you can download it from http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/download

    Thanks,

I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8. I tried to open my upgrade to Fetch 5.7 and got that same message "You cannot open the application "Fetch" because it is not supported on this architecture". Maybe I don't have an "Intel" Mac?

    Hi Roger,

If you choose "About this Mac" from the Apple menu you will see a window with a line labeled "Processor". That will tell you what kind of processor your Mac has, Intel or PowerPC. Fetch 5.7 requires an Intel processor; Fetch 5.6 will run on either Intel or PowerPC Macs.

    Thanks,

Hey, thanks. Looks like my processor is a PowerPC. I bought the $10 upgrade thinking that was a good thing. Is the 5.6 version a lesser version? What do I do to get 5.6 running.... how do I remove 5.7 correctly?

To remove 5.7 just drag the application to the trash. You can download 5.6 from http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/download . If you're upgrading from 5.3.1 or an earlier version you'll find that 5.6 has most of the features we've added since then, and if you do move to an Intel Mac someday you'll be licensed to run 5.7.

    Thanks,
