Thanks for reporting this problem. Are you seeing the error when you add Filter Fetch Items to the workflow, or when you run the workflow?
Thanks,

Hi JIm -
Its when I try to add a Filter Fetch item. Whats odd is it works quite well the first time. Then I run the action to confirm that things are working and after that when I start modifying the workflow it starts going haywire. I've switched to 10.6.8 and it works fine under Snow Leopard (I read some post about having to run Automator in 32-bit mode and it works OK under Snow Leopard).
I think the Automator action is actually well built in Fetch. Its well-thought out and easy to use. No Applescript required.

Thanks for that additional information. Looking back through our records I see that we've gotten a number of reports of this problem since Lion shipped. I do not think we've gotten any since Mountain Lion 10.8 came out, and as you noted it isn't a problem on 10.6, so it may be a Lion-specific issue.
Thanks for the kind words!

Hello -
We're thinking of using Fetch to automate File Transfers between a web server and a local computer. The automator actions look really good. But I keep on running into a problem when I add a Filter Fetch Items. I consistently get a "AppleScript Error : Can't get item 1 of {}.(-1728)
I'm running on 10.7.5
What is the issue here? I can create an automator action to download files. THen test it; it works great then the next time it just goes berserk with this error. I've quit Fetch, Restarted Automator and keep on getting it.
THanks -
Paul.
