BBEdit will not save with Fetch (5 posts)

    Hi,

i'm working with the actual fetch version and Mac OS X Tiger.

When opening a file online via ftp with fetch and saving it back via ftp, everything seems to be saved (the dark point in the red closing button disappears). But nothing has been saved.

After opening the file again, all changes are lost.

Same files edited with Interarchy work fine.

    What is my mistake?

    Thank you in advance!

    Frank

    Hi,

Here are a couple of things to check:

    (1) Make sure that you are not running two copies of Fetch at the same time. If you are, quit one and try again.

    (2) Reposition your windows so that you can see the Fetch file list and the BBEdit window at the same time. Watch the Fetch window and see if you see your file being uploaded when you Save in BBEdit (you should see the status saying "uploading" and the progress indicator appear). Let us know what you see.

Also, could you please let us know what the version number of Fetch and what version number of BBEdit you are running?

    Thanks,

    Hi Frank,

Thanks for the additional information. We're still trying to figure out the problem.

After you click on the Edit (Bearbeiten) button in Fetch, and the file opens in BBEdit, at the top of the BBEdit window there should be a line saying "File Path" followed by a URL. (It's below the line that says "Last Saved"). Could you please tell us what the "File Path" line says?

    Thanks,
