    Hello. I can't even input my login information. I get as far as my hostname and username, but the second I either tab to or click into the password field, I get the following error message:

    These settings cannot be used because an error has occored.

    Mac OS eror -2147415734

    Hi,

    We're sorry you're having a problem with Fetch. Could you tell us which version of Fetch you have, and which version of Mac OS X you're using?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    We beleive the bizarre error is coming from the keychain (which Fetch is trying to read your password from when you tab to the password field).

    Please try doing the following:

    * Quit Fetch, if it is still open.
    * Run the Keychain Access application, which is in the Utilities folder inside your Applications folder.
    * Choose Keychain Access > Preferences
    * Click on the "First Aid" tab.
    * Make sure both "Synchronize login keychain password" and "Set login keychain as default" are checked.
    * Then choose Keychain Access > Keychain First Aid
    * In the password field of the Keychain First Aid window, enter your Mac OS X admin password (this should be the same as your Mac OS X login password).
    * Click the Repair radio button.
    * Click the Start button.
    * Once it's done, close the Keychain First Aid window.

    Then try Fetch again and see if the problem is fixed. If not, let us know and we will try some other things.

    Thanks,

    Scott;
    Thanks for the help on this issue. I followed the steps suggested exactly, but I still get the same error message.

    Hi,

    Sorry to hear that didn't fix the problem.

    Let's try this next:

    * Open Keychain Access (in the Utilities folder) again.
    * In the search field in the upper right hand corner of the window, enter the hostname of the server you are trying to connect to when you get the error.
    * This should reduce the list of stored passwords to just a few entries. If there are more, select each one and find the ones whose information displays "ftp://" or "sftp://" in the Where field (displayed in the rectangle above the list of passwords).
    * Delete each FTP or SFTP entry for the hostname from the keychain (press the Delete key).
    * Confirm that you want to delete them.

    And then try connecting to the server again.

    Let us know if this works, or if you have any questions about the steps above.

    Thanks,
