Can I change from Multiple windows to a Single window? (12 posts)

    Hi

I'm just trying to find the setting that allows me to view the host file system in a single window - instead of opening a new window each time I navigate through the folder structure.

    Is that possible?

    Thanks!

Fetch shouldn't open a new window when you open a folder, unless you are holding down the Command key. What version of Fetch do you have?

How are you opening folders? Do you double-click, or Command-down-arrow, or choose Open Folder from the Go menu?

    Thanks,

    I'm double-clicking.

Interestingly - it's happening on some shortcuts but not others. I had to update 2 sites today - one opened the folders in a single window, the other opened a new window with each folder.

I checked the shortcut settings - they're the same (apart from the username and pass ofcourse :)) - both set to 'Folder'.

That's odd. What version of Mac OS X are you running?

    Thanks,

Are you using a mouse, trackpad, trackball, or other input device?

    Yes. My setup is:

    MacBook Pro, 8GB RAM
    Razor Mouse
    Apple Keyboard (wired)

    - no trackpad or other input device.

Do you see the problem when you use the MacBook Pro trackpad instead of the Razor mouse?

OK.. so today - it's working as expected - not opening new windows. I tried 7 sites that I work on and none of them showed that behaviour.

I tried both trackpad and razor mouse.

So, my apologies for the wild goose chase - the problem seems to have fixed itself.

Thank you so much for your prompt replies and excellent service Jim.

A while back we had a few reports of this problem, typically with people using non-Apple input devices, but then they went away; our guess was that an Apple system update had fixed the problem. That doesn't sound like it was the case for you, but in any event I'm glad you aren't seeing this problem anymore.

    Thanks,
