Cannot open downloaded file (2 posts)

    I've downloaded some files from a client that were created in Quark Xpress Passport. They are appearing on my desktop with a blank page icon and I cannot open them with Quark Xpress. I cannot reach the client to have them re-sent as .sit files (which seems to work fine). Any suggestions?

    I'm using Fetch 5.0.4 on an iMac G5 running Mac OS 10.4.10.

    Hi,

    Do the files have extensions at the end of their names? (That is, a period followed by an abbreviation, like .sit?)

    If not, I would try adding whichever extension is appropriate for Quark Xpress Passport documents to the end of the names of the downloaded files. Then they should open in Quark Xpress Passport. If that does not work, let us know.
