Hi,
Thanks for buying Fetch! Purchasing Fetch does not change how Fetch connects to ftp sites, so I suspect there is some other cause for this problem.
We'd like some more information to help diagnose the problem. Could you please do the following?
* Quit Fetch.
* Open Fetch again.
* Try connecting to your server.
* After you receive the error, go to the Window menu, and choose Fetch Transcript.
* Copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and paste them into a reply to this message.We'll take a look and see if we can figure out what's going on.
Thanks,
Scott McGuire

Thanks for your reply. It turned out that although the firewall didn't interfere, some other security software was interfering with Fetch, and I just needed to turn it off!

I downloaded Fetch to connect to an FTP site, and it worked fine. But the other day I paid $25 for it, and now Fetch opens, it opens my shortcut, I press "Connect," and the little dog runs and runs, but doesn't get anywhere! The bottom of the window says "Connecting" but just eventually times out. It's not the FTP site, because my desktop computer (Mac OS10.4) does connect.
I'm using a new MacBookPro running system 10.5,
