Can't Delete Document "\" (5 posts)

    Hello,

    I have a document file named "\".
I have been trying to delete this from the FTP.

It comes back with this error message when I try to delete it:
"Fetch could not delete "\" because the FTP server says that the requested item is not a folder."

If any one has any suggestions that would be great.
    Thanks for your time.

    Hi Kim,

Unfortunately, many FTP servers let you create folder names that they cannot work with after they've been created. It sounds like this is the case here. All Fetch can do is ask the server to delete a folder; if the server says that it can't, there isn't more Fetch can do.

So, to remove the folder, you should to contact the folks who run the server and ask them to delete it for you.

Sorry not to have an immediate solution. Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,

I followed the advice of the Fetch representative below. I access the server itself and tried unsuccessfully to delete the unwanted files. In my situation one font named KIDS cannot be deleted. It's driving me crazy! Is there another suggestion on what to do?

    Hi Kim,

What other methods - besides trying to delete the files with Fetch - did you use to try to delete the files?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Sorry, I initially missed that it was not Kim who asked the new question - my apologies for the mistaken identity.
