I would take these steps:
1) Choose "Preferences..." from the Customize menu in Fetch
2) Click on the Misc. tab at the top of the window.
3) Click on the Obscure Options pop-up menu and choose "Send LIST -al to UNIX Servers"
4) Click OKThen try deleting that folder. If you get an error could you then choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents?
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

Thanks for the reply, Jim.
Well, I deleted the folder without a problem. However, when I try to upload something, I get the follwoing response:
"Error: the server does not believe you have permission to take that action."
After that, I copied the Fetch transcript and here it is:

After you get the error could you choose "Refresh File List" from the Directories menu and then post the transcript?

It looks to me like you're doing everything right, but something is messed up on the server so that your user id can't upload files in your pub directory. I would contact the server administrators and show them the transcript.
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

Thanks a lot, Jim.
It's comforting to know that I •might• be doing the right thing. I'm supposed to call them back tomorrow morning if things aren't rectified by this evening.
Unfortunately, I don't have much hope for that because when I told them I'm using Fetch their response was, "What? I've never even heard of that before."
Oh, well...tomorrow still may shine...:-/
I'll let you know in case your curious about the end result.
I appreciate your time very much!

Hello.
Let me start by saying that I know absolutely nothing about FTP, etc.. I'm trying to get a webpage started but have a folder which I can't delete. I created it but it's empty. I am able to rename it, but can't delete it. Whenever I try, I get the following message:
"Server file error: garbage: File exists."
"garbage" is the last thing I named it because that's what it is.
Also, when I try to replace the "index.html" file, I get the following:
"Error: the server does not believe you have permission to take that action."
My ISP is no help at all. They say everything is fine and I'm "doing something wrong" (I already know that). Then they are eager to hang up. Ever since the customer service is being handled from India, they are unwilling to help.
I'm sure you need more info from me, so please let me know what I need to supply you with.
Thanks a lot for your help. I don't mean to sound bitter, but I'm getting really frustrated. Thanks, again. :)
P.S.
I'm using Mac OS 10.3.5.
