All of a sudden Fetch won't download PDFs without getting hung up for awhile, then generating this error:
Post-processing of file "filename.pdf" with application "Acrobat Reader 4.0" failed. Error: a file was not found.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,

It sounds like Fetch is configured to open downloaded PDFs with Acrobat Reader 4.0, and that application can't be found. To fix this:

    1. Select a PDF file in Fetch
    2. Click the Get Info button
    3. Under Transfer Options, set "After transferring a file like this:" to "Save the file"

    Does that fix the problem?

    Thanks,

Hi Jim, I have the Get Info, but it doesn't allow for any changes except maybe renaming the file? I'm using V4.0.3 - maybe it's an older version? But I just installed Adobe Reader to be done with it. Drives me crazy because it always launches all the PDFs instead of just downloading them! Thanks so much for your help!

    Hi,

The steps would be different for Fetch 4.0.3 (which is now 11 years old, so I don't have a copy running on my computer). I believe that you want to choose the "Post-processing…" item from the Special menu, and disable the post-processing action that opens PDF files. Let me know if that isn't correct.

    Thanks,

When I try to Put a pdf on our website, as soon as I click on the pdf I get the message: The action could not be completed because a file was not found

    Hi MAPTS,

I would recommend quitting Fetch and opening it again. Does that help?

    Thanks,

    Hi MAPTS,

Could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu after you get that error message and submit the contents of the Fetch Transcript window to https://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/feedback ?

    Thanks,
