Can't put files with 10.5.5 (2 posts)

I am able to connect and get files from my client but when I try to put files up, I get a message saying that Fetch could not put "(filename)" because the FTP server says that you have exceeded your Storage Quota.

they have deleted files on their end and other people are able to upload and download files with no problem. I was able to do this until a few days ago when I upgraded my OS to 10.5.5. Any suggestions?

    Hi,

A message that you have exceeded your storage quota means that you are out of space in your account on the server - that is, you are only allowed to upload and store a certain amount of files in your allocated space, and you have reached the limit.

Here's most likely what is happening, although I am just making a best guess here, I can't tell exactly how things are set up on the server you are trying to access. But probably, your client has set up special logins for each of the people they work with; and each login has its own storage limits. So other people are able to upload successfully because they have their own logins, separate from yours.

So in order to fix the problem, files need to be removed from the space allocated to your login - if you are allowed to delete files, delete some old files that you no longer need (if you are concerned that other people might need those files, check with them before deleting the files). Another alternative is that the folks who run the server need to increase the storage space your login is allowed.

Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
