AOL recently made it necessary to check the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" box in the Firewall section of Fetch Preferences. Does that help?
Thanks,
Jim Matthews

Fetch SoftworksYes, I figured it out last night while studying the posts. Now both 3 and 4 work even though I only toggled 3. They must communicaate through AOL. Thanks for your suggestion anyway. John

When I used the trial version of Fetch, I was able to retrieve files on one of my websites.
But now I can't use Fetch at all. Either the little dog keeps running and nothing happens
or I get a sign that says: "Server file error-Transfer aborted established connection
was aborted by software in your host machine"
Also,I get a window that says to put in my "user name", but I already typed that in the Fetch connection field. I talked to my web host and he can't find anything wrong with his server. I've tried both Fetch 3 and 4.
I'm using a Mac running OS 9.1 and I use AOL
5 as my ISP. John
